Resumen

FEDRE, JÚLIO PENNA  y  VITORINO, ARTUR JOSÉ RENDA. Notes on the current public policies for professional education in Brazil. Rev. Comunic [online]. 2015, vol.22, n.1, pp.159-172. ISSN 2238-121X.  https://doi.org/10.15600/2238-121X/comunicacoes.v22n1p159-172.

When inquiring, through comparative education, what is the relationship between the labor world and education, this article aims to expose and make brief comments on the current public policy for vocational and technological education in force in Brazil. The vocational education in Brazil has its trajectory marked by discrimination arising from the colonial period, when manual services were practiced by slaves, therefore, considered inferior. It is argued that the current Brazilian State seeks to erase the biased stigma rooted in this type of education, and approach the issue of the labor world and education. In this sense, the labor world is ideologically presented as a challenge to education, especially when it aims to infer and define the educational system and its teaching methods, as well as the educational contents and assessment styles based on the foundational principle of generating a knowledge society focused on the knowledge economy.

Palabras clave : EDUCATION; PUBLIC POLICIES; PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION.
