Abstract

TODARO, MÔNICA DE ÁVILA  and  BOCCIA, MARGARETE BERTOLO. Paulo Freire and Humberto Maturana: an (im) possible dialogue?. Rev. Comunic [online]. 2015, vol.22, n.1, pp.173-182. ISSN 2238-121X.  https://doi.org/10.15600/2238-121X/comunicacoes.v22n1p173-182.

The objective of this article is to present the initial results of a process based on what the authors read and discussed about the thinkers Paulo Freire and Humberto Maturana. The theoretical-methodological approaches used were survey and literature review. The data were described in a concise manner when it came to the biographical background of the said educators; the differentiation between the origins of philosophical schools; and the thoughts that we considered significant. Our research focused on the study of topics such as: history, humanization, language, emotions, fondness, changes, education, dialogue, autonomy and knowledge present in the works of Freire and Maturana. In the end, we sought to compare the conceptions and present the similarities and differences between the authors to promote reflection and knowledge for those who work as teachers and researchers in education. We verified that both contribute to the emergence of a new way to look at education, in which the respect for ourselves and others becomes reality through dialogue.

Keywords : PAULO FREIRE; HUMBERTO MATURANA; EDUCATION.
