The universities currently face a number of challenges. This study highlights the significant increase in vacancies in the expansionary process, which somehow points to the democratization of the access to higher education. This article aims at demonstrating a survey of public and private multicampi universities in the Southern and Midwestern regions of Brazil and identify their regional territorial integration. The methodological approach of this research began with a literature review and later contemplated a survey concerning the location of the Brazilian multicampi institutions in those regions. The approach to data analysis was qualitative and quantitative. Based on these results, it was found that the logic of organizing a multicampi institution is expanding into smaller units, meeting the needs and demands of the community that had no access to higher education. It was felt that researching the university and its current expansion into a multicampi model is to assume the exciting task of addressing a long-term subject (university) and its many challenges (multicampi structure), seeking to understand social, structural, technological, productive, and organizational phenomena that are taking place in the history of individuals, society and institutions.
