Abstract

Since 2001, the Brazilian Association of agribusiness (ABAG), through its sister company entity located in Ribeirão Preto, develops in the public schools of the region, formed by 90 municipalities, the Agribusiness education program at school. From the point of view of environmental ideals, the speech announced by the points to the possibility of a conflict-free society, based on public-private partnerships, on individual responsibility and rationalization in the use of natural resources. The objective of this work was to analyze the program’s insertion in the municipal networks regarding the proposal of hegemony of the entity and the role of the participating teachers. The research that resulted in this article conducted interviews with 17 teachers entered in the pedagogic project with the aim to understand the adhesion of school communities to the proposal of the ABAG. Were held also interview with the coordinators of the Association and analysis of teaching materials provided by the program. It was possible to conclude that the proposed image enhancement of agribusiness, the main stated goal on the show, reproduces inside the schools speech proposed by the Association through works that broadcast a consensus on the dominant agricultural model.
