Abstract

Teachers are crucial in strengthening promoters habits of environmental health school. In view of this fact, this article analyzes the presence of Environmental Education in school documents and teaching practices of public schools teachers also trying to identify what are the search for sources of information on environment and health, and what are the behavior in relation to education and environmental health school, by these teachers. A qualitative approach and characterized as the ethnographic, the study was conducted in eight schools (urban and rural) and the target population were 57 teachers who teach in these schools. The analyzes were based on responses to a questionnaire with open questions and observation of the researchers as to space and school surroundings. The Internet was identified as the source of most used search (80,7%). In addition, it was found that teachers constantly guide students to the rational use of water for hand hygiene, for example. The study presented here is a fragment of a study that analyzes the environmental perception, particularly in relation to water, municipal school teachers located in the area of the watershed of the River Cubatão of North in Joinville/SC.
