SILVA, MÁRCIA PEREIRA DA  e  GUERRA, ANTONIO FERNANDO SILVEIRA. A movement towards sustainable teaching space. in the Montessorian Pedagogy. Rev. Comunic [online]. 2015, vol.22, n.esp, pp.391-413. ISSN 2238-121X.  https://doi.org/10.15600/2238-121X/comunicacoes.v22n2e391-413.

Here is the result of a research in a Pre and Primary School in São José/SC that verified the contributions of Montessorian Pedagogy to the dimensions of the school as a Sustainable Teaching Space (STS). The theory revisits some educators’ ideas who thought of a school for their historical and cultural reality, especially Montessori’s ideas. About the environmental education, sustainability, sustainable school and our way of being and remaining in this “house of life” are according Sauvè, Sato and others. The support was based on Foucault, with his understanding of the discourses of truth. The research said the school is in process of constituting itself as a STS, in what is related to the dimension of the curriculum, the pedagogical political project and the interaction between the school and the community, as well as in its paths and choices. However limitations exist, especially in the architectural space. In the school community voices, it was seen that the Educational Center tries to create its own path and pathways, and although it does not bring a complete consonance of its pedagogical proposal with the objectives of the National Program of Sustainable Schools, they both have aspects in common. It was concluded that the institute’s pedagogical projectprocess is still in effect in knowledges and actions of the Montessorian Pedagogy.
