Abstract

DIAZ, JOSE ANTONIO RAMIREZ. Analysis of inequities in higher education of Mexico to introduce a multidimensional theoretical model of equity in education. Rev. Comunic [online]. 2016, vol.23, n.1, pp.65-89. ISSN 2238-121X.  https://doi.org/10.15600/2238-121X/comunicacoes.v23n1p65-89.

The historical pattern of distribution of wealth in Mexico has meant to preserve poverty and increasing social inequality among the population, differences also become visible in the education indicators of the States. The homogeneous and conventional intervention of government in this situation is exacerbated by the poor results achieved in social and educational matters. Therefore, a review of theoretical and methodological approach with which the Federal Government addresses the problems of equity is necessary. In this text, from a political philosophy based on, a dense equity perspective definition is elaborated and, through a conceptual matrix, the proposed application is shown as a tool for educational argued critique of inequities. The final part of the paper illustrates, in the practical sense, the consequences of not adopting an integrated and participatory approach in the design of public policies.
