Abstract

SIMOES, REGINA  and  SALDANHA, GILDA MARIA MAIA MARTINS. PROFESSOR’S PEDAGOGICAL PRACTICE IN A HOSPITAL SETTING: FACILITIES AND DIFFICULTIES. Rev. Comunic [online]. 2016, vol.23, n.2, pp.225-244. ISSN 2238-121X.  https://doi.org/10.15600/2238-121X/comunicacoes.23n2p225-244.

The objective is to identify the facilities and difficulties of the teacher’s pedagogical practice with children under oncological treatment. There were interviews with six teachers, which were defined into two categories. One category identified that the content and educational objectives of schooling in a hospital setting is similar to that of the regular school, with adjustments, due to the physical and emotional conditions of these students. The other category showed that the difficulties are related to reading, memorization, concentration, assessment, lack of material and physical space; while the union and cooperation between the teachers, children, and families exist in the facilities. We conclude that the practice is complete and that there is a need for new studies to investigate the difficulties of this environment.
