Abstract

TANCREDI, REGINA MARIA SIMÕES PUCCINELLI  and  RESENDE, ADRIANA TORQUATO. SWEETNESS AND LABOR: A PEDAGOGICAL PRACTICE WITH FRACTIONS IN THE EARLY YEARS IN K-12 EDUCATION. Rev. Comunic [online]. 2017, vol.24, n.2, pp.181-198. ISSN 2238-121X.  https://doi.org/10.15600/2238-121X/comunicacoes.v23n3p167-180.

The aim of this article is to analyze a 5th-grade K-12 Math teacher´s pedagogical practice when teaching fractions. To do so, were realized semi structured interviews with the teacher and students based in a previous script. The study took place in a public school from the metropolitan area of the city of São Paulo-Brazil. The theoretical background comes from the reflective teaching, the teaching of fractions and teacher´s education and resorts to authors such as Arroyo, Marcelo, Mizukami and Shulman, among others. The research justifies itself because the pedagogical practices are some of the descriptive models of the teaching processes that can contribute for the teaching professional enhancement, when socialized. These practices should be know and studied, favoring the exchange of systematized knowledge and of experiences between peers. The results reveal that the teacher´s pedagogical practice echoes both in the students´ motivation to learn and in the teacher education itself during the teaching process.
