The article presents the results of observations made at the State Indigenous School of Basic and Secondary Education "Sertanista José do Carmo Santana", situated in the village Gãpgir, line 14, Indigenous Sete de Setembro, municipality of Cacoal, Rondônia. Our objective was to identify what and how they worked the culture of ethnoknowledge Surui and to what extent the current legislation governing the specific and differentiated education for indigenous people, has been fulfilled in the village. As a data collection procedure, interviews and documentary analyzes of didactic-pedagogical materials were done. The results presented indicate advances in compliance with legislation, but still far from ideal, that is, full access to citizenship.
