The present article deals with studies developed by three educational researchers about teacher education geared towards the challenge of social inequalities, beyond dichotomies based exclusively on social class, gender or ethnic differences. &e conducting theme that unites them is the belief in teachers’ potentials to act as producers and constructers of knowledges. Also, a common belief is present in the employed qualitative methods, as well as in regard to understanding the University as a site for qualified teacher education, both initial and continuing ones. the authors share concrete experiences undertaken in teacher education in a social transformative approach, refining both theoretical categories and pedagogical strategies to translate such an approach in everyday teaching practices.
