Resumen

This article, drawn from literature search carried out in sandwich-doctorate at the University of Bologna, Italy, aims to: a) Explain the concept of pedagogical documentation, establishing similarities and differences in relation to the register of practices; b) Indicate the contribution of the register and the documentation of educational practices in the construction of good quality in the context of early childhood education. Documentation may represent an element of the pedagogical skills to relate to the reflection on practice and training, the construction of memory and identity, understanding of children’s thinking, planning and the general evaluation.
