This study presents reflections on knowledge production with narratives in the field of education and the ethical implications that are present in this type of research. It approaches the need to include in the researchers’ education the debate on the ethical questions concerning the collaborative research with and on narratives and life stories. From Ricoeur’s and Habermas’s thinking, this text identifies the return of the debate on ethics in contemporaneity as a need that imposes itself to overcome the strictly technical thinking of analyzing social phenomena. The text emphasizes the social commitment of the research worker, as well as the ethics as the basis of this epistemological experience in his professional work context.
