We intend to emphasize the actuality of historical and dialectical materialism and a tradition of critical theory to help analyze the current socio-environmental crisis. We want to contribute to the consolidation of a movement opposed to the hegemony of positions/views that, devoid of criticism, impose a conservative perspective of Environmental Education. Debates about State and Revolution present in Marxism, reflect the idea of transformation is not a reformer of Critical Environmental Education, are appropriate for further reflection about social conformation and the trivialization of class struggle. We considerate results of this study the emergence of this discussion and the construction of an authorial overview.
