Abstract This paper analyzes the international integration of the African continent in the post-Cold War, identifying key challenges and opportunities that emerged with the end of the bipolar era. It is argued that in the immediate post-Cold War world, ie, during the 1990s, there were intense conflicts in various regions of the continent, featuring a time of intense challenges for the African leadership. Have a second time, at the dawn of the century, the scenario has changed, initiating an era of new opportunities.
