Abstract This approach considered the particularities of the black movement in Mato Grosso do Sul state (MS) based on Brazilian history (1996 to 2003). The LDBEN (Law Nr. 9.394/1996), inserted the contents of history and Afro-Brazilian Culture in specific areas of the curriculum gave rise to the construction of the Law Nr. 10.639/2003. In this context emerged the “Guaicuru Project” into Program from Overcoming Racial Inequality on MS, whose analysis was guided by framework from Gohn, Aranda, Candau, among others.
