Abstract To deal of the relations developed between the belligerents Brazil and Paraguay with a common neighbor of border, Bolivia, during the biggest occurred armed conflict already in the continent, is the objective of the article. The analysis falls again on the period where Corumbá was busy for troops of Paraguayan president Francisco Solano López, it enters the years of 1865 and 1868, and the relations kept with Bolivia in regards to the diplomacy, as well as the commercial interaction enters the populations in the border region.
