This paperaims to discussthe notion of otherness, proposing toi nvestigate the way in which it is incorporated in the Bachelor’s Degreein Education from the Universidade Estadual de Ponta Grossa (UEPG). Thus, it was made with the academic focus group technique, based on their problem situations that represent dilemmas of every day classroom mand school, from which they were invited to debate. The result sindicate that, al though existingin the views of academics, other ness presents o fragile, especially the autonomy of the teacher is still seen a san obstacle to the construction of other ness.
