In the case study here presented, it is investigated the production of senses on the teaching and learning of mathematics of two students from the course of Pedagogy from the Federal University of Mato Grosso/UFMT. The proposal and analysis of the data were referenced to the cultural-historical theory, particularly on the Activity Theory of Engeström. The results indicate modifications in the sense on the teaching and learning of mathematics, in the practice with the students.
