This article aims to discuss aspects of the academic management in UFMG’s degree courses related to student’s evasion. This discussion will be based on research conducted through questionnaires answered by courses’ coordinators. We sought to identify and analyze what strategies to combat the students’ dropout used by the university. The study led to the conclusion that there is still a small investment of coordination in UFMG’s courses aimed to combat students’ evasion despite the seriousness of the problem. It was also found that courses that were more concerned with the problem had a significant drop in evasion.
