The acceleration for students with high potential isn’t seen as the way of satisfactory educational service; condition presented by the low enrollments in the Brazilian school system. This paper aims to discuss about the acceleration of more able students bringing out the legal and administrative scopes, also, the publication on the periodic and databases. The methodology used was the bibliographical and documental. The results show that there are legal guaranties for acceleration, but the administrative procedures of school systems are barriers to the acceleration gets effective as well as the low academic publication.
