ANJOS, Juarez José Tuchinski dos  and  SOUZA, Gizele de. Creation and suppression of schools in the Province of Paraná in the 19th century: the "noise underneath history". R. Educ. Públ. [online]. 2015, vol.24, n.55, pp.225-245. ISSN 2238-2097.  https://doi.org/10.2015/repub-v25n55jan.abr011.

This paper aims to understand what the creation/suppression of elementary schools reveals about the place occupied by the school in the lives of children and in the city, and the relations established between them in the Province of Paraná during the 19th century. Through the concept of event, we examined the multiple meanings of the phenomenon mediated by documentation pertinent to the public instruction. After the historical path traversed having the city of Lapa as the field of analysis, we concluded that this type of event indicates, that during that period, the school was already consolidated in the place as the appropriate space for the education of children in the city.
