Resumen

NOZAKI, Izumi. Schooling for brazilian children migrants in Japan: policy integration and school curriculum. R. Educ. Públ. [online]. 2015, vol.24, n.56, pp.379-403. ISSN 2238-2097.  https://doi.org/10.2015/repub-v24n56maio.ago006.

This article presents the result of a research that investigates the education of Brazilian children in the migratory movement to Japan. Compulsory education is not a constitutional right to foreign children, but local governments have guaranteed to them the access to Japanese public schools. This policy has resulted in a gradual growth in enrollment, also in the school dropout. With the theoretical support of Sacristan, Candau, Sayad and others, this study searched to understand this contradiction based on responses given by 18 subjects, who revealed a conflict between the sense of compulsory school and the purpose of the school education
