Abstract

This article presents a research about the meanings attributed to the evaluation practiced and school failure. The data collection was carried out through a questionnaire administered to 168 students, 48 teachers and 21 administrators of elementary school and 5 experts of Municipal Schools a city in the state of São Paulo, that adopts the system of cycles and continued progression. It was found that most participants presented as necessary school failure and small changes in evaluative actions of school, therefore, a strong tendency of the ideals of serialization with some ideas on Continued Progression and Cycles.
