Abstract

Research has linked the recurrence of unsatisfactory performance and evasions in undergraduate courses to students' difficulties in adapting to the set of variables, distributed among five major areas (dimensions): personal, study, interpersonal, and institutional career. Sought to identify and evaluate, among 449 engineering undergraduates, the main difficulties in adaptation as well as the significant differences in integration between the different profiles of students through the Academic Experiences Questionnaire (QVA-r). Results indicated greater difficulties in adapting to students personal dimensions and studies and a greater propensity to adapt to career-related variables, colleagues and the institution.
