Abstract

This research analyzes a permanent online forum within the courses Mathematical Thought I and II of the distance education program on Education Studies at the Federal University of Mato Grosso. We aim to verify the limitations and possibilities of using that kind of tool in teacher training for Children Education, especially in the context of courses related to Mathematics. To do so, we carried out a documentary research on the didactic guide, interviews with students and a content analysis of posts on the forum. The triangulated data suggest that this forum fostered students' collaboration, but not critical-reflexive discussions on teacher training.
