Abstract

SILVA, Mariléia Maria da. Generation a drift: young people nem nem and the superfluity of the labour force in capital-imperalism. R. Educ. Públ. [online]. 2016, vol.25, n.58, pp.119-136. ISSN 2238-2097.  https://doi.org/10.2016/repub-v25n58jan.abr007.

The present article aims to problematize the discourse about the nem nem generation - the so-called young people who neither study nor work - on the basis of the facts disclosed by IBGE (2013) and associate them with the concept of superfluity of the labour force in Marx (2011). Argues that the nem nem generation constitutes part of the surplus population to be preserved for the benefit of the productive sector. Points out that, from the perspective of the capital, is necessary to maintain a labour force relatively superfluous, whitout this condition be come despondency, to the point of thre at ening own working class desire in becoming commodity labour force.

Keywords : Nem Nem Generation; Capital-Imperalism; Superfluity.
