This article investigates, in a qualitative approach, the consistency between the Professional Master´s in Mathematics in National Network - Profmat - and teacher training policies. A questionnaire was applied to 32 course participants from Branch Uberaba/MG. eleven of them were interviewed. According to half of the respondents, Profmat´scontents are inapplicable in basic education due to the complexity adopted. Eliminatory criteria has resulted in high evasion. Most course participants intend to leave basic education. These aspects affect the course objectives.
