Abstract

To promote Distance Education, the federal government created the Open University of Brazil (UAB) System, which integrates public institutions offering higher education programs for population segments with limited access to university education. This work shows the participation of UFMT in the democratization of higher education in our country. The data presented (11.470 openings and 5.079 certificated) point to an institution that is positively positioned in favor of the social, academic and economic development of Mato Grosso, present in 19 cities, committed to the internalization of pre-service and in-service training programs with excellent quality.
