Abstract

PIMENTEL, Nara. Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in higher education: the utopia of educational innovation and modernization. R. Educ. Públ. [online]. 2016, vol.25, n.59, suppl.2, pp.476-501. ISSN 2238-2097.  https://doi.org/10.5965/010459622559n22016476.

This article aims to point to a reflective discussion on the use of information and communication technologies (TIC) in higher education. It is based on research in the area and experience with actions and programs with the use of ICT in higher education. Despite the unanimity that technologies are everywhere and accessible to all, this paper reveals that it is not enough to introduce technologies in education; we need to promote alternatives to their pedagogical use within a ready model, and also encourage teachers and students to develop their own means of using and owning technology.

Keywords : Information and Communication Technologies (TIC); Teacher Training; Pedagogical use of ICT.
