Abstract

This article analyzes the elderly’s social represen tations of the socio environmental transforma tions that have occurred in the city of Ponta Grossa, PR over the last 50 years. It aims to identify and understand the representations of elderly men and women regarding the space they have lived in. The collection of data oc curred via open and recurrent interviews, fol lowing a narrative path. The data was analyzed by the ALCESTE software. Two categories were defined, regarding the representations of space, dealing with the female gender on micro and mesoenvironments, and the male gender on meso and macroenvironments.
