This article presents a mapping about research in the History of Education that used textbooks as a source. It used bibliographies submitted by the projects Livros Escolares and Manuales Escolares, the Capes Theses Bank, journals and conventions in Education History as sources. It divides the mapping into a quantitative and qualitative analysis. In the quantitative part it emphasize: number of productions, period, recurrence of authors, institutions, etc. In the qualitative part the focus was on content analysis of the investigations, with emphasis on emerging issues, methods, reference and temporality.
