This work aims to investigate the construction of the teacher identity in Chemistry, based on teachers’ academic career and professional per formance of whom just started their teaching practice. The investigation had been carried out through narratives of histories of life col lected among seven individuals graduated at the first Chemistry Licentiate Course (CLC / UFS). Throughout analysis, it was possible as stablish connections between the elements of the periods of training and working as positive expectations from these teachers to continuing their professional career.
