This current paper assesses the PROEJA - Bra zilian Program of Young and Adult Education integrated to the Vocational Education - in the Federal Institute of Maranhao - Campus Acai landia. The emancipatory evaluation methodo logy was applied: reality description, reality cri ticism and collective creation (Saul, 2006). The survey of data was carried out by means of focus groups with students, teachers and technicians through Content Analysis (Bardin, 2011). The reality description involved locality data, course plans and Program. The individuals’ perception predominated in the reality criticism and the contradictions and proposals were emphasized in the collective creation.
