This study contextualizes on manifestations of prejudice and discrimination in the relations established between transvestite, transsexual and transgender teachers and the student body. It is a qualitative research in which bibliogra phical, documentary and empirical sources were analyzed. It highlights the post-critical theories as a theoretical field, especially the queer theory. It was concluded that transphobia is a phenomenon that inhabits the school con text demanding punctual measures so that this process of human segregation is minimized. In this way, the presence of trans teachers in school can trigger new perspectives of belonging to the LGBT segment in the school context.
