Abstract

MENDES, Luís César Castrillon  and  JESUS, Dánie Marcelo de. Identities and gender relations in national textbook program guides for History and Portuguese at high school level. R. Educ. Públ. [online]. 2018, vol.27, n.65, suppl.2, pp.693-712. ISSN 2238-2097.  https://doi.org/10.29286/rep.v27i65/2.6891.

This paper addresses the gender debate in as sessments presented in teacher guides by the PNLD 2015. For the theoretical framework, the concept of gender was used as an analytical category, together with some aspects of pos tcolonial and decolonial studies to understand how the concept of identity was introduced in the guides. In addition, this paper analyzes whether these guides address group specificities like social class, ethnicity, and sexuality. Results suggest that guides generally seem to reinforce women’s secondary role and a complete silen cing of issues related to other non-canonical gender expressions.
