Abstract

The objective was to verify the opinions of youngsters on school science and interest in science outside of school. There was the participation of 2,404 students enrolled in the 1st year of high school in 78 schools. Data collection was through questionnaires and the analysis was used software Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) - 18.0. The results show that students recognize the importance of science lessons and its role in daily life, but the proportion of interested in deepening on scientific issues in other information areas is smaller.
