Abstract

FONTOURA, Helena Amaral da. Teacher is my name: about learning to teach and identities. R. Educ. Públ. [online]. 2019, vol.28, n.68, pp.297-310.  Epub Jan 21, 2020. ISSN 2238-2097.  https://doi.org/10.29286/rep.v28i68.8391.

This work brings questions about how we become teachers from the assumption of our identity. We propose questions in the field of teacher education in order to think about the appropriation of the teaching place. Our reflection is based on qualitative research, which understands the subject as an integral part of the research process. To discuss the concept of teacher identity we count on the contributions of Marcelo and Nóvoa. We believe that we contribute to the reflection on the formation of democratic teachers by assigning another dimension to the questions crossed in the didactics debate by theory and practice and teaching and learning.

Keywords : Teacher identity; Didactics; Teachers professional development.
