Abstract

The article presents results of a study that sought to understand the theme of pedagogical internship in the Brazilian educational scenario based upon an academic literature review, an analysis of the legislation and experiences involving some type of practical teacher education that has been inspired by some idea of ​​pedagogical internship. In general, the idea of pedagogical internship links to medical internship as a complementary training at Medicine programs. In Brazil, this idea could also be found in the use of expressions such as educational internship, teaching internship and teacher immersion, applying to both pre-service and in-service teacher education.
