This article discusses Special Education and school inclusion in the Brazilian context. It uses a bibliographic review that presents the main advances of the legislation in the last two decades and dialogues with recent research on special education. It aproaches practices that may favor teaching and learning processes for school inclusion, particularly students with special needs. It defends a welcoming attitude of the difference on the part of the teachers. The concept of experience is used to ground differences as formative powers. Finally, considerations are made as to the need for a micropolitics of desire that contributes to inclusive practices.
