The article focuses attention on the intertwining of the methods and theories of urbanism with the knowledge and practices of elementary school. Therefore, from the analysis of the Urban Reform Plan – elaborated by Alfred Agache – and the Public Instruction Reform – led by Fernando de Azevedo – discusses some points of approximation between the two investments supported by the Rio de Janeiro municipal administration in the 1920s.
