This article analyzes the new proposed model for the Brazilian university based on the Future-se law project. This exploratory and bibliographical desk study investigates this project from the social, economic and cultural transformations that happen on a global scope. From concepts such as “university capitalism”, “precarious work” and “privatization of school management”, it is concluded that the reform envisaged by the law project Future-se shifts the Brazilian public university towards the institution model required for the new format of relationship between capital and work befitting the financialization of capitalism in the 21st century.
