BAPTISTA, Clara dos Santos; GUIMARAES, Mauro  and  PEREIRA, Celso Sánchez. Interculturality and environmental education: possibilities and challenges with Guarani’s culture. R. Educ. Públ. [online]. 2020, vol.29, e7356.  Epub Dec 01, 2020. ISSN 2238-2097.  https://doi.org/10.29286/rep.v29ijan/dez.7356.

The study aims to identify Guarani’s culture elements that can be developed in the construction of generative themes to be used in environmental education classes in educational settings at the state of Rio de Janeiro. Based on author’s previous researches, this article shows that there are many elements of traditional culture that allow intercultural dialogues for environmental education for differentiated Guarani school, but also for schools in general and universities. Among many possibilities, we highlight three thematic reductions. With this initiative, we intend to emphasize the importance of the application of intercultural pedagogical policies in the structuring of curricula and formative proposals that value the traditional knowledge of communities.
