Abstract

FONSECA, Danielle Macedo da; AYRES, Ana Cléa Moreira  and  RIBETTO, Anelice Astrid. The construction of knowledge of listening Science teachers in a school for deaf students. R. Educ. Públ. [online]. 2020, vol.29, e9717.  Epub Dec 01, 2020. ISSN 2238-2097.  https://doi.org/10.29286/rep.v29ijan/dez.9717.

This article analyzes teaching knowledge of listening teachers who teach science and biology at the National Institute of Deaf Education (INES). It is theoretically based not only on the understanding of deafness as a cultural trait, but also in the perspective of the teaching knowledge, arguing that it is produced by teachers out of daily work. The article analyses interviews with teachers from INES and it characterizes the teaching of these subjects to the deaf public. The article concludes that the teachers' knowledge is produced in close relationship between teachers with their students, their colleagues and within the school culture.
