This study aims to discuss the issues involved in the insertion of environmental education in the curriculum of courses of a higher education institution. We present a case study of a qualitative approach conducted through a diagnostic questionnaire with the coordinators of undergraduate and postgraduate courses of a private university in the western state of São Paulo. The results indicated that the environmental discussion at the university is still a new process, full of challenges and anxieties of the subjects involved, but that is beginning the demands for a social and environmental formation.

Keywords : Curricular Ambientalization; College education; Environmental education; Interdisciplinarity.
