DOMINICO, Eliane; LIRA, Aliandra Cristina Mesomo and OLIVEIRA, Marta Furlan de. Points and against points governed children's: the control of pedagogical practices with small children. R. Educ. Públ. The text aims to reflect on the governance of childhood and the control of children through the implementation of pedagogical practices. The governance that surrounds the education of young children is related to the objective of producing docile bodies that modern society needs. It is a qualitative research, based on the studies of Foucault (1979, 1995, 2008, 2014) and authors such as Veiga-Neto (2015). Data were collected in two institutions of Early Childhood Education through observations and interviews, in order to problematize the power relations that permeate the experiences of children from 0 to 3 years of age. Analyzed from a Foucaultian perspective, we verified that pedagogical practices with young children assume a strongly regulating character, whose control strategies act on child behavior through vigilance and punishments that seek to adjust and shape bodies and thoughts.
