Abstract

LIMA, Daniela da Costa Britto Pereira. Human Formation and Democracy: relations between digital technologies and education. R. Educ. Públ. [online]. 2022, vol.31, e13411.  Epub June 29, 2022. ISSN 2238-2097.  https://doi.org/10.29286/rep.v31ijan/dez.13411.

This study was carried out within the scope of the Research Group on Technologies and Distance Education (GEaD/UFG/CNPq) and aims to reflect on the role of digital technologies in the current Brazilian educational situation and its relations with democracy, to resist the purely oppressive interpretation of this role and awareness of its fundamental political relevance. For this purpose, a qualitative approach was used, based on a bibliographic survey and documental research. The study concluded that, in Brazil, educational researchers need to occupy a space in the current agenda of policies and actions, as we still have a lot to advance in the view about the role of technologies in education, to advance in the democratic digital citizenship.
