Abstract

MARIANO DA ROSA, Luiz Carlos. From the formative-educational process as an affirmation of the forces of life according to Nietzsche and the correlation involving art and philosophy in the film “Dead Poets Society”. R. Educ. Públ. [online]. 2022, vol.31, e13579.  Epub Sep 26, 2022. ISSN 2238-2097.  https://doi.org/10.29286/rep.v31ijan/dez.13579.

Based on the film “Dead Poets Society”, the article highlights the impact on the Welton school of Professor John Keating’s new teaching and learning methods, which emphasizes the meaning and value of life, defending the cultivation of the self and knowledge as an affirmation. of life forces. Thus, based on Nietzsche's critique of “historical culture” and the question involving philosophy professors - philosophers or servants of “history”? -, the article proposes to overcome the reduction of being, life and vision to the culture of “fashion” and the alienation of instincts and loss of freedom.
