Abstract

FORMIGOSA, Marcos Marques  and  GIONGO, Ieda Maria. Language games expressed by riparian students in the subsistence fishing in the surroundings of Xingu river. R. Educ. Públ. [online]. 2022, vol.31, e13695.  Epub Dec 09, 2022. ISSN 2238-2097.  https://doi.org/https://doi.org/10.29286/rep.v31ijan/dez.13695.

This article aims to analyze the language games related to the activity of subsistence fishing and expressed by students of the 4th grade of Primary School of a riparian school in the Pará Amazon. The methodology is ethnographically inspired and includes activities in the community and a social cartography produced by the students. Data analysis has shown that the students express the language games developed within fishing that are transmitted generationally; this ensures the permanence of the residents in that place, by occupying their space, even though it quite often is not recognized by the State, which has historically deprived them from fundamental rights, such as education.
