LESNIESKI, Marlon Sandro; TREVISOL, Marcio Giusti y BECHI, Diego. Managerialism and Performativity in Higher Education: notes on the incorporation of a neoliberal culture. R. Educ. Públ. [online]. 2023, vol.32, e14097. Epub 28-Dic-2023. ISSN 2238-2097. https://doi.org/https://doi.org/10.29286/rep.v32ijan/dez.14097.
The article seeks to understand how higher education has incorporated the culture of managerialism and performativity. Such elements expand the control and regulation of management, teaching, research, and extension with performance and efficacy as criteria. The aim is to analyze how managerialism and performativity in higher education have become an incorporated, shared, and experienced culture, which takes as a basic premise the pursuit of efficiency and effectiveness defined by the neoliberal agenda. This is exploratory research, theoretical in nature, using a hermeneutic method. We conclude that the cultivation of managerialism and performativity in education has brought higher education closer to private management models that prioritize quantifiable and observable results based on the global needs of neoliberalism.
